SP lauds 2017 Mutya ng Pilipinas Soccsksargen

July 11, 2017 - The 18th Sangguniang Panlungsod, led by Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles, cheered today the win of the beautiful Ms. Richelle Valerie Pailden who took the first-ever 2017 Mutya ng Pilipinas - Soccsksargen crown last night, July 10, at the SM City Gensan Events Center.

The 23-year old Pailden, who represented the City of General Santos, bested nine other ladies from General Santos City and the neighboring localities of South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani.

The lovely lady will now represent the region in the upcoming 2017 Mutya ng Pilipinas competition at the Resorts World Manila this August 6th.

Ms. Pailden -  no stranger to beauty pageants - claimed both Miss Tourism Gensan and Mutyang Maasim titles for herself back in 2010. But after these pageants, she then focused on her college education and finished BS Accounting Technology from Notre Dame of Dadiangas University in 2014. Currently, Ms. Pailden is in public service, working as administrative aide for the General Santos City branch of the Philippine Social Security System.

In an interview, Ms. Pailden explained that she underwent rigorous training and diet in preparation for the competition. She then sought the support of her fellow Generals in the upcoming national competition.

“I want to make my city proud,” she said.
