SP praises former Gensan police chief Layugan’s feats

July 24, 2017 - The 18th Sangguniang Panlungsod of General Santos City, led by Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles showed its gratitude to immediate past General Santos City Police Office City Director Colonel Maximo Cawas Layugan by giving him a Service Award for two years of excellent leadership and service in protecting the citizens of General Santos City.

          Colonel Layugan led the General Santos City's police force for two years, from July 2015 to July 2017, producing the city's significant drop in crime volume and a substantial rise in the office’s crime solution rate. He is also known as a strong advocate against the use of illegal drugs, pushing for programs in collaboration with related offices in informing and reminding the citizens of General Santos City on the detrimental effects of drug and substance abuse.
